Kensuke's Kingdom and Dancing!

03 Feb 2022

In guided reading, we have started reading Kensuke's Kingdom by Michael Morpurgo. We are really enjoying it!

Before we began, we made predictions about who we thought the characters would be, what would happen and what we thought Kensuke's Kingdom was! We used the blurb and the front cover to give us some clues! Through our first few lessons we have met a number of the content domains. We can't wait to find out what happens to Michael now he is deserted on his own, on an island in the middle of the ocean.

This half term, the children have been doing dance in PE. They have been working in small groups to create a dance together. This week the children performed them to the rest of the class. They did a great job! Here are some photos of them in action.

We have lots of other exciting projects that we are in the middle of, and will be soon ready to share. In English, the children are about to start writing an explanation text, and in geography, they are planning a news report to report on the recent underwater volcano eruption and tsunami in Tonga.

We also have our Desert Island Survival workshop next week, which we are really looking forward to!
