Class Three- Art Week

11 Jul 2024

This week, alongside all of our other learning, we have had an art focus. The theme for this year was colour.

We began by looking at this piece of artwork as inspiration.

The children researched the artist who created it, Andy Warhol.

They found other examples of work he has created.

Then we began to produce our own self portraits. The idea being that we would create 3 copies of our portrait and then colour each of the images differently, using colours to represent different emotions.

We took inspiration from the Marilyn Monroe picture and made sure the hair, lips and eyes were painted in colours which stood out from the rest.

Some of us then illustrated our artwork by adding images or words around each picture that make us feel that emotion.

Don't forget that the Year 6 have their trip to LightWater Valley on Monday and we have the Year 6 Assembly on Thursday afternoon at 2pm, for Year 6 parents.

Have a lovely weekend!
