Class Three- Tests and treats
16 May 2024
As lots of you will know this week has been SATs week for our Year 6 children. They have done so well, their hard work, effort and attitudes this week have impressed Mrs Lewis and I greatly. Well done Year 6, we are very proud of you!
Each morning this week to ensure the children were relaxed and set up properly for the day we laid out a special breakfast. They had their choice of drink along with a vast choice of food; croissants, pan au chocolat, toast, brioche, mango, strawberries, watermelon and one day Miss Rogers even called in a favour and there were teacakes from Bettys!!
Whilst this has been happening the rest of the school have had to be extremely quiet whilst doing their work. Our Year 5 children managed this brilliantly and were supportive and have been helping the year 6s with revision. The Year 5s have been doing some maths revision of their own and they had a look at what one of the maths papers looked like from a previous year. They had a go at seeing which questions they already knew the answers to. Some of them even asked if they could do some more!
As a reward for the hard work and great attitudes from our whole class this week we had a few treats on Friday. We played rounders, tried a Maya game called Pok a Tok, which we had been learning about in history and in the afternoon we watched the film Holes and had popcorn and sweets. Holes has been our Guided Reading book this half term, it was interesting to see the differences between the book and the film.
Have a super weekend and a very well earned rest.
Next week is a short week as we have a training day on the Friday. On Thursday a reminder that the children need dropping off at Grewelthorpe at usual time and collecting from Grewelthorpe at 3pm, due to our early finish for the end of half term.
