Class Three - Spreading Kindness, Rehearsals, Christmas Jumper Day and more
14 Dec 2023
Well we have certainly crammed a lot into this week in school.
On Monday we had our Pupil Voice Morning, where we came up with ways to start our pupil chosen intiative, which was "spreading kindness far and wide" We created Christmas Cards, positive affirmations and pictures. We are going to spread these round our local community and hopefully put smiles on lots of people's faces.
Alongside this all of our commitees got the opportunity to have a meeting. The School Council set up craft night, the Charity Committee organised Christmas Jumper Day, the Collective Worship Committee got on with planning Collective Worship's for next term and the Reading Mentors came up with some ideas to help spread kindness further through books.
Then on Monday afternoon we put on our play costumes for the first time and had a full run through of the play.
On Thursday we took part in Christmas Jumper Day, our Charity Committee chose to raise money for Martin House. The day started with Becky from Martin House coming to give us some details about what Martin House do and who they help. This has given us inspiration to raise money for them later in the year too. Thursday also saw us enjoy a delicious Christmas dinner.
Friday saw our final play practise before we perform for our family and community on Wednesday next week.
Alongside all these different activities we have finished reading our Guided Reading book 'Armistice Runner' we answered a range of questions on the final chapters before we were set the task of wriitng a summary of the book in less than two pages of our Guided Reading book, we knew we had to include all the main events in our summary.
We have all finished our work on division, which was the final part of our work on the four operations in maths and in RE we worked in groups to create wonder poems which were inspired by our amazing world. We have continued our persuasive writing with Mr Scott as well as our Science work investigatiing the classification of living things.
We also completed our final assessment paper of this term!
Have a great weekend, one more exciting week to go before the Christmas holidays!!
Miss Rogers and Mr Scott.
