Class 4 - Coronation Tea Party and Outdoor Maths!
05 May 2023
We have had a busy week in Class 4!
In Maths we have created our own line graphs. We placed thermometers in our classroom and outside. We then monitored the change in temperature throughout the day and added this data to our line graphs. We have also looked at pie charts and finding the mean average. On Thursday afternoon we enjoyed some outdoor Maths! The children worked in small groups to complete a scavenger hunt and solve lots of different mathematical problems.
In History we have been looking at what Anglo-Saxon kingdoms were like. The children have worked in small groups to carry out research and build on their learning in lessons to deepen their understanding.
On Wednesday and Thursday afternoon, Year 5 joined Class 3 to learn more about the upcoming coronation of King Charles III and to prepare decorations for our tea party.
On Thursday we had our Coronation Tea Party. The children sang songs dedicated to King Charles III before enjoying some cake and juice. Thank you so much to all of you that were able to join us in marking such an important event for our country.
Year 6 have worked really hard in advance of SATs week next week. I am so proud of the hard work they have put in and I hope they take the opportunity to have lots of fun and rest over the weekend.
Next week, there will be some morning snacks/breakfast for both Year 5 and 6 to enjoy when the arrive at school (which I know they are looking forward to).
Have a wonderful bank holiday.
Mrs Glover 😊
