Class 4 – Fairy tales, electrical games and The festival of Passover
24 Mar 2023
We have had a really good week in Class 4 this week.
In Maths we have been looking at measurement. We have been converting between different metric measurements before moving on to look at imperial measurements and how to convert between the two.
In English we have been planning our fairy tale stories. The children have each chosen one of three fairy tales to base their own stories on. They have chosen from Jack and the Beanstalk, Hansel and Gretel and Cinderella. Each child has been challenged to twist their tale through changing various elements: from who the main character is to a completely different setting. I have looked over the children’s planning and I am very much looking forward to reading some fantastically creative stories.
We have continued our DT project and next week the children will create circuits for their steady hand games.
In R.E. we have been considering how the resurrection of Jesus impacts how Christians look at the world today. We have also had a world R.E. afternoon, focused on our school’s world religion for this year – Judaism. We have learnt about The festival of Passover, including the story of Passover and how the Jewish faith remember and celebrate it.
On Wednesday afternoon we also had visitors in to school to give out prizes following the hard work the children did at our recent R.E. workshop.
Have a lovely weekend.
