Class Four - Week Seven
24 Oct 2022
This week we have been learning all about Black History Month. We have explored the history behind Black History Month, The Windrush Generation, Notting Hall Carnival and key black figures in history.
We have practiced our dance moves and sang along to Dancing in the Street and One Love. We have also worked on our persuasive writing techniques, in relation to the slave trades and statues dotted around our country.

There has been a big focus on DT this week and as a class we have created some wonderful bunting! As part of our project, we carried out research, sketched designs, made mock ups and practiced our sewing skills. We practiced running stitch, back stitch and cross stitch. We regularly reviewed our design ideas and improved them as we went.
Once we had finished practicing, we started making our bunting. This involved carefully cutting out our fabric shapes, using safety pins to hold them together, threading our own needles and choosing the appropriate stitch to use.
Overall, we had a fantastic week and learnt a lot.
Have a wonderful well-deserved rest this half-term Class 4!
See you on the 1st!
Mrs Glover 😊
