Class Four - Week Five (Roman Day)
07 Oct 2022
On Wednesday we had our very exciting Roman Day. We were joined by the children from Class 4 at Grewelthorpe and the day was led by John, an expert in the Romans. John told us all about the timeline of the Romans, how they moved across Europe and invaded Britain. We got hands on with lots of Roman artefacts…including a very special sponge! We played some Roman games and some of us had the opportunity to dress up as gladiators and soldiers. We had a fantastic day, and it was a great way to further develop our learning so far this half-term.
This week we have also continued work on the Four Operations in Maths and have started writing letters in English. We are really enjoying our class book. In Computing we were looking at algorithms and writing code to operate traffic lights. In R.E. we have been exploring the architecture of Coventry Cathedral and how this relates to the question “What does it mean if Christians believe God is holy and loving?”
Have a lovely weekend.
