A bit of a mixture!

Although we are rapidly heading towards Christmas, we are still working hard and learning lots in all of our subjects. The children's attitudes towards their learning are faultless, and I remain very proud of them.
We love reading in Class 4, and we have recently finished our class text, 'My friend Walter'. We enjoyed reading this in Guided Reading lessons as well as in class, and the children really enjoyed doing an AR quiz on it to test their knowledge. Along with the books we share together, the children are individually devouring books at a very quick rate. They are working towards their AR targets quickly, and in actual fact, lots of them have already met it with two weeks to spare.
Here are a few of the books we have read recently...
Maths is a subject that isn't as easy to share with you, but rest assured that the children are working hard at it. We have just mastered long division and have now moved on to fractions.
We are enjoying our current RE unit, which is called 'Creation and Science: conflicting or complementary?' It has been such an interesting unit to investigate. After the first few lessons, we were sure they were conflicting, but then after the last couple of lessons, we have moved towards thinking they are actually complementary.
This week, we looked at the viewpoints of scientists who are Christians. This opened our eyes to completely different ideas on Genesis 1 and ways to interpret it. The children completed an activity which included placing statements on a continuum between 'all Christians believe' and 'no Christians believe.'
