What do we believe?
21 Oct 2021
We have just completed this half term’s RE unit, Why do some people believe in God and some people not? We have thoroughly enjoyed exploring the big questions within this unit, and considering what we believe and why.
Throughout the unit, we have considered what we think about God, and have moved ourselves on the below continuum on our display. We have even asked our family members what they believe, and have add them too. Lots of us have changed our minds as we have explored different areas and ideas.
Last week, we looked at the different opinions on how the Earth was created. The children then reflected on how they feel about the different viewpoints, and added post it notes to the posters. The children had lots of interesting thoughts and views on ‘God caused the Big Bang that created the Universe’.
This week, the children have been summarising all we have explored. They have discussed reasons why people believe in God, and reasons why they don’t, and have made a decision on what they believe at this point. We know that it’s ok to change our minds about what we believe as we grow.
At the beginning and end of our unit, we considered our responses to our unit title. Here are some of the children’s ideas.
