A Christmassy week!
10 Dec 2020
We have had a fun week this week although we've also had to work hard!
We completed all of our termly assessments, which included tests in maths, reading and grammar, and we also found time to write a non-chronological report about the Romans! Mrs Barker was really impressed with our focus and the attitude and effort we demonstrated towards our learning. She was also pleased with the test results!
There were also some fun activities...
On Wednesday, it was Christmas dinner day which we all really enjoyed. The children all sat together with their christmas hats on, listening to Christmas music while they ate. The dinner was a definite success.
On Friday, we celebrated Christmas jumper day to raise money for Save the Children. I'm sure you'll agree that we all got into the spirit of things and dressed in our best Christmas outfits.
We also had the opportunity to complete a couple of lovely art activities this week too.
We took part in Picture News' 'hearts for homes' campaign where the children all produced a heart with a drawing or a poem or message in, to try to cheer up the adults in one of our local Care Homes. Mrs Acheson has delivered these to Ripon for us, and we hope they put a smile on someone's face. The children took a lot of care with their work.
Finally, we created some artwork, titled stations of the manger, for Reverend Ian and our Benefice. The chidren produced a painting or drawing to depict a verse that told the story of the birth of Jesus from the bible. Ours were titled, 'Heavenly joy,' Shepherds seeing the King,' Wise men worshipping the King' or 'What's the point?' The children have produced some lovely artwork.
