Energy & Sustainability Day - Power Down Pete!
09 Jan 2020
We've made our new year’s resolution a planet saving one and booked
Power Down Pete to visit our school
on Tuesday 11th February.
As part of NYCC Energy and Sustainability we have booked a visit from Power Down Pete, the energy saving super hero. We will release our inner Eco Warrior and engage our students with assemblies and workshops designed to make everyone aware of their responsibilities to the planet.
Throughout the day, the children will look at Climate Change, Energy, Waste, Water and Rainforests. They will also look at a unique concept of Environmental issues delivered through a second world war home front input. ARPete with teach us to “switch that light out”
The children have had an amazing day with Power Down Pete.
Class 4:
We had a visit from Powerdown Pete in school today.
We enjoyed an assembly which gave us lots of suggestions for ways in which we could help to save the planet.
Later on, we worked with Powerdown Pete on an activity about ‘Eco Island’. The children had a lot of fun trying to memorise and recreate an image of Eco Island. They then had discussions around the ways in which Eco Island tries to save the planet by being sustainable.
