Home learning lessons for this week

If you are at home this week, I hope you're feeling ok and we look forward to having you back in school as soon as possible. 

Try to complete an English activity and a maths activity each day as well as doing half an hours reading each day. You could do more reading than that if you like! 

If you can manage one of the afternoon activities as well then that's great, but if you're not feeling well or you don't have the resources or time to do it, then please don't worry.

Geography

LI: To demonstrate the impact that natural disasters have on a place and the people.

I would like you to look at the immediate impact a natural disaster has on a place and its people. When that volcao erupts or earthquake starts, what happens? 
You could look at this from the point of view of a family who live in an area where natural disasters happen. 
What happens to the place? (You could look at the human and physical features of a place). 
What happens to the people? 
You can record your findings in anyway you wish. 

2.
LI: To compare and contrast their lives with the lives of those who live in an area where natural disasters occur. 

I would like you to consider the reality of living in a place where natural disasters can occur. What would they have to think about that we don't? Can they do anything to prevent the natural disasters? Can they do anything to protect themselves from the disasters? 
What would this be like? Would you want to live in an area like this? 
Are there any long term effects on the place too? On the physical or human features?

See what you can find out about time zones and the Prime/ Greenwich meridian. You could add labels to the map below.
