First week back

10 Jan 2024

Although, it has been a shorter week we have been very busy in class one. The children have settled back in so well and got stuck straight back in to their learning. They have been very enthusiastic and eager which has been lovely!

In Geography, this half-term we are investigating weather patterns in the UK. We began by reminding ourselves of where the UK is and what countries make up the UK.The children used a variety of maps of different scales to find the UK. The children love looking at lots of maps.
Following on, we began to think about what weather is and name different types of weather. We grouped the weather by how often they occur in the UK.

At the start of the week, we discussed the New Year and how many people make resolutions for the year ahead. The children each wrote some goals for the year and are very excited to get started.

In our areas, we have been particularly enjoying using the toys and games that Santa brought for us. The children have been rock painting, making jewellery and playing lots of games of bingo. We have also been using some magic invisible pens to practice our writing.
