World Book Day

06 Mar 2020

We have had a brilliant day in school today.

We began the day altogether in assembly. The children had all made such a wonderful effort with their fancy dress; we had a huge variety of very convincing book characters. We awarded a prize to one member of each class for the best dressed although it was almost impossible to judge!

Next, each class had an exciting session with storyteller Miles Salter. We listened, retold and acted out a variety of stories. We had a lot of fun!

This afternoon, we held our book swap. Throughout the week, the children have brought in their books from home to swap with another one. We had a large number of books and the children really enjoyed trading in their raffle tickets for a new book.

We completed the day with a whole school book share, where all the children spent time together looking at books.

The children have all been given a World Book Day book token that they can swap in specific bookshops for a brand new book.

We hope you all have a lovely weekend.
