Y2 - Y6 - School Visit to Madhyamaka Kadampa Meditation Centre
17 Jun 2024
** Just a reminder, please bring in your consents for this trip by tomorrow at the latest if you haven't already done so.**
Thank you
On Monday 24
th June we will be taking the children from Y2 - Y6 to a Buddhist Centre near York, to develop our understanding of what it means to be a Buddhist.
The children will be split up into two mixed age groups; one group will take part in a guided tour and talk while the other group will explore the grounds, then we will swap after lunch.
We will be away from school all day, leaving by Atkinson’s bus straight after registration, so children will be required to bring a packed lunch, or please inform school if they require a packed lunch from cook.
We aim to be back to school for approx. 4pm, so please can we ask that you arrange collection if children are normally on the bus.
Children will have time outdoors on this visit so will need a coat and appropriate school uniform for the expected weather. If it is warm, please ensure children have suncream on before coming to school and bring a sunhat and plenty of water. Alternatively, if it is looking less kind, please ensure children have a waterproof jacket and appropriate shoes.
We are asking for a small donation of £3.50 to go towards the cost of admission. This can be paid via Parentpay. Children will also need to return the consent form which we are sending home after school today.
Our world religions focus each year is a highlight for the children’s multicultural education and we are so lucky to be able to enrich the topic with a trip this year. Please keep an eye on the website for pictures and information about our day!
Many thanks
