Y6 - Crucial Crew School Trip organised by North Yorkshire Police
06 Nov 2023
We are pleased to inform you that we will be taking our Year 6 pupils to the 'Crucial Crew' event at Carlton Lodge Activity Centre, Carlton Minniott on the afternoon of Tuesday 21st November. The children will have an early lunch before they set off and we will be travelling via Atkinson's Coaches.
Crucial Crew is vital to encourage good citizenship and reduce accidents, injury, crime and protect young people through education and awareness. The event is designed to educate ‘Year 6’ pupils in North Yorkshire to make informed decisions when faced with danger and respond effectively to emergency situations and accidents. Each workshop promotes an awareness of crime and crime prevention issues relevant to the communities in which the students’ live. The event also encourages active participation by all ‘Year 6’ students and shows synchronicity between the Crucial Crew event and the schools citizenship curriculum.
Students will rotate around several, 20 minute workshops to be staffed by key partner agencies to learn life skills including how to make a 999 calls in an emergency, how to deal with peer preasure and/or stress. Students are informed about the consequences of actions and where we can seek help in these situations.
We are requesting an £8 per child contribution towards the cost of this event. We would be grateful if you could please make payment via ParentPay at your earliest convenience.
We hope you will agree that this is a wonderful opportunity for our young people to experience.
Thank you
