On Friday 17th November it is Children in Need 2023. At Fountains we are going to spend the week, from Monday 13th to Friday 17th November, completing the 'Bearpees challenge' in order to raise money for this brilliant cause.
What is the Pudsey Bearpees Challenge?
Here’s the deal – Joe Wicks is challenging schools like ours to get pupils sponsored to complete 1,000 Bearpees across Appeal Week, every day from Monday 13th to Friday 17th November!
In order to hit the 1,000 Bearpee target, we will take part collectively in our pupil voice colour teams, together doing enough Bearpees each day to hit the target! Each day the teams will log their total on the Totalisers so you can keep up with their progress.
Why get involved?
By taking on this brand new challenge, our school is making a huge difference to the lives of children and young people who really need our help. It is also be helping our pupils stay active, stay positive, and support their wellbeing. Burpees are the perfect morning energizer, brain break, or quick refresher for the children. There are differnet types of Burpees which the children will practise and then they can choose which Burpee they are going to do.
Incase you want to have a go at home, or just want to see exactly what your children will be doing, here is the link to the Joe Wicks video.

What do I need to do?
This week each child will bring home a sponsor ship form, which we hope they will use to get lots of sponsors. If the sponsorship form can be brought into school on Friday 17th and then any money collected, should we successfully complete the challenge, be brought into school by Friday 24th at the latest.
On Friday 17th November itself the children are invited to come into school wearing
non-uniform and bring in a £1 donation for doing so. During the day there will be an assembly led by the Charity Committee which explains why we are raising money and who the money will help. The children will also complete some fun activities linked to Pudsey Bear and Children in Need.
Any questions please just ask.
