Pupil Voice Day June 2023
07 Jun 2023
The children have had a great Pupil Voice morning. It was an opportunity for all of our committees to come together to plan their next projects.
Sports Crew
Sports crew have created a timetable for playtime activities. They will be making sure the equipment for these sports are available on the correct days and have made posters to explain how to play the different games. They wanted to add hockey, rounders and a bean bag challenge to cricket, football and basketball and have a rota for these.
Charity Committee
Charity committee have planned a Pyjama day and book sale on Thursday 22nd June. £1 donations for wearing pyjamas and all books 50p at the sale. Information about this is on the website and the children have also been making posters which we will put up around school.
School Council
School council have organised an outdoor film night. They will be showing the ‘Bug’s life’ on Wednesday 5th of July after school. More details to follow on the website.
Collective Worship Leaders
Our CW Leaders have been planning their own collective worship on the theme of parables or Big Questions. They will deliver these each week on a Friday afternoon to the rest of the school.
The children were all set the challenge of a daily run at break time which they all achieved and it was lovely to see our older children supporting the younger children in school. Once we got our breath back, we then had a reading buddies session.
Pupil Voice is about giving the children the opportunity to stand up for something they are passionate about and make a difference.
We spent some time this morning discussing social action projects which we think are important for our school and local community.
Here are their suggestions which we have grouped according to common themes:
- Keeping our school and village tidy
- Become an eco-friendly school
- Plant more trees
- Create habitats and areas for our wildlife to live and grow
- Save the hedgehogs
- Make the roads in our village safer for animals and people
- Share our kindness far and wide
The children are each going to be given a voting token next week to choose a project which we will work on next academic year. The project will involve the children in research, planning, collaboration, implementing actions and then measuring impact. All the children are very excited and believe that together we could bring about change. They also want your help so would like parents to vote for the project of their choice. You can do this by collecting a token from the office on Monday and then placing it in the appropriately labelled bucket which will be on the playground each morning. Or you can complete this online survey to register your vote. Thank you for your support with this.
