Internet Safety Day 2023
10 Feb 2023
This week across the globe has been Internet Safety Day and here at Fountains we have marked the day too. In each class there have been a wide range of activities taking place including; drama, poster making, quizzing, word searches and lots of group activities.
The whole school had a Collective Worship to introduce Internet Safety Day and this year's theme "want to talk about it"
Class 1 and 2 worked together on Internet Safety Day. They began with a wordsearch and then in groups worked through different scenarios. Reading the card and discussing what they would do in that situation. Then Y2 spent time discussing ways to stay safe and put these on some super posters and Y1 talked about who they could go to for help and recorded these ideas.
In Class 3 the children began the day with an e-safety themed wordsearch. They then created a visual representation of their digital footprint. We talked about how your IP address is stored by the websites you go on and how this can be tracked through your life. They then looked at what type of information is personal information and who we should share this with. In groups we discussed how we can stay safe when using the Internet and created posters to show this.
In Class 4 they began by trying to complete an a-z in pairs, where every letter had to link to the internet. Next they each shared 3 things they love about the Internet and 3 things they would like to change. They then looked at what the saying "a problem halved is a problem shared means" and how this may help us stay safe online. They finished off by creating a billboard which could be shared on social media to demonstrate what they have learnt.
