25 Jan 2023
** Just a reminder that the children are going to the Synangogue and National Science and Media Museum next Tuesday. Please can payment and consent be made on ParentPay ASAP. Unfortunately without consent, your child will have to stay in school.
Please also make sure you child is in the correct clothing - The children are to wear school uniform, appropriate black footwear and a coat. The Synagogue has also asked that boys wear long trousers (No shorts) and need to be able to cover their heads, so please can they bring in either a baseball cap or woolly hat.**
Many thanks for your support with this.
Visit to the Bradford Synagogue & the National Science and Media Museum
This year, we are learning about Judaism as our World Faith of the Year and we are planning to visit the Jewish Synagogue in Bradford on Tuesday 28
th February.
The children need to be at school promptly on the day of the trip so that we can leave by coach at 9am. We will return in time for the end of the normal school day.
The children are to wear school uniform, appropriate black footwear and a coat. The Synagogue has also asked that boys wear long trousers (No shorts) and need to be able to cover their heads, so please can they bring in either a baseball cap or woolly hat.
The children will need to bring a packed lunch and a water bottle. They can also bring a snack to have during the morning as they will be having lunch slightly later than normal. It will be easier if the children can bring their lunch etc in a bag that they can carry easily, such as a small rucksack.
Please can you let the office know as soon as possible if your child requires a packed lunch from the school kitchen so that this can be arranged.
Whilst we are in Bradford, we thought we would take the opportunity to also visit the National Science and Media museum where there are a huge number of galleries and exhibitions to explore.
This trip has been heavily subsidised by Friends and we thank them for supporting the children’s learning in this way. Due to the contribution Friends has made, the cost of this trip will be £6 per child, which is to be paid/ consented for on ParentPay from today.
We really hope that this will be a really interesting and enlightening day for our children. We feel it is integral to support the learning we have been doing and will be doing in school. As part of our RE curriculum, we are determined to ensure that our children understand themselves, one another and the world in which they live; we feel that learning about other religions is a key way to do this.
