Pupil Voice Week - Monday

Monday - Lego workshops & Sports games
We have had a really fun day today in school! There has been a constant buzz of excitement all day.
We started the day by giving out the pupil voice t-shirts to the children. Each child has got one that they will wear during the activities this week. They will be leaving the t-shirts in school though, just to make sure we don't lose any! It is lovely to see them all in the bright colours around school.
The children have worked together in groups that are slightly different to usual, so this morning Class 1 and 2 mixed together to form 2 groups, and this afternoon, Class 3 and 4 mixed together to form 2 groups. They then took it in turns to do the lego workshop on balloon cars and the sporting games.
Lego - the aim of this activity was to create a balloon car. The children had a huge amount of lego available to them and they could make any car they chose. They then attached a balloon to their car and once they let go of the balloon the force of the air being released should power their car to move forward. The children had to be very resilient and creative during this activity and they also had to work hard to support each other, which they did.
Sports - this was a PE lesson with a twist! Mr Whitford designed a range of games for the children to play that focused on their team work skills. The children played these games in their pupil voice groups and so not necessarily with the children they would usually choose to be with. There was lots of cheering coming from the hall all day. Key Stage 1 enjoyed a game called hit the bench and Key Stage 2 were playing bench ball.
