Sports Day - Wednesday 21st July
30 Jun 2021
UPDATED GUIDANCE FOR SPORTS DAY WHICH HAS BEEN RE-ARRANGED FOR WEDNESDAY 21ST JULY:
We are very pleased to confirm that we will be holding a Sports Day this year and parents are welcome to come along and cheer on their children. To ensure we are complying with advice and keeping everyone safe, this will look very different this year.
Our plan is for each class to have their events separately within their own bubble and will earn points at the finish line, the first 3 over the line (1st, 2nd & 3rd) will get a card which they will put into their teams coloured box. We will allocate 3 points for 1st, 2 points for 2nd and 1 point for 3rd. At the end of the day, we will count up the points for each colour to find an overall winner. We will aim to announce this at the end of the day - all being well.
Each session will begin with some carousel activities followed by races:
Running race: all
Beanbag on head: Classes 1 & 2
Skipping race: Classes 3 & 4
Sack race: all
Egg (ball) & spoon: all
WE WILL BE STICKING WITH THIS ARRANGEMENT:
1 family member will be permitted to come and watch their own child in their class slot. If you have more than one child, you will need to leave the premises and return for the second or third class slot. Class timings will be as follows:
Class 3: 9.15am - 10.30am
Class 4: 10.45am - 12pm
Class 1: 1.10pm - 2.10pm
Class 2: 2.15pm to 3.15pm
Parents - Please arrive at the time slot and leave immediately after the final race. This will ensure we are not having too many families mixing on site. Please ensure you are socially distancing from each other and we would also prefer for you to wear a mask but understand if you choose not to due to the weather conditions. We will also be having break time for the children inbetween the race slots so it is important that you leave the site after the final race, even if your second/third child's class is due next.
You are also more than welcome to bring your own rug/chair to the event. Please ensure that you are socially distancing and placing your rug/chair at least 2m from each family. Unfortunately we are only allowed a maximum of 30 parents at each race event so we must request that only 1 family member per child attend Class 2-4 events. Class 1 has less children/families so 2 family members are permitted to attend.
Although we understand that some of these rules are restrictive, we still wanted to host a Sports Day event and allow parents to attend so this is the best we can do under very difficult circumstances.
We are sure the children will have a fabulous time and we hope you are able to come along and enjoy the sessions with your children.
PLEASE ENSURE YOUR CHILDREN HAVE SUN SCREEN APPLIED, BRING A SUN HAT AND A DRINK
