World Book Day
Year 6 Reading Mentors - 25 Feb 2020
World book day
On Friday the 6th of March we are celebrating World Book Day and we would like you to make an effort to come to school dressed as a book character. There will be a prize given to the member of each class who has gone to the most effort and looks the best.
Look out for the adults in school as they are all dressing up as characters from the same popular children's book. See if you can guess what it is!
Storyteller:
In the morning we will be having a story teller in school - Miles Salter - who will read stories for all ages to the children in groups.
Book swap:
From Monday the 2nd to Thursday the 5th March you will be able to bring in from home 1 to 3 books that you don’t want any more, but they must still be in good condition that someone else would want. When you bring your books in they will be switched for raffle tickets. Then on Friday you can cash in your raffle ticket/s for a new book or books depending on how many you donated and how many raffle tickets you have.
Other activities:
Also on the day we will have book related activities such as making book marks and designing book covers. We will also do some shared reading with the whole school.
