Forest School - Monday 17th June
19 Jun 2019
Over the past two weeks the children have been studying the animals in the school grounds as part of their science work. They have been using identification keys to name their animals and thinking about how they can be grouped. They can identify vertebrates and invertebrates and are beginning to group into categories including insects, arachnids, molluscs and myriapods. The children have been looking for evidence of the 7 life processes to explain how they know their animals are alive.
Next week we will be working hard to improve habitats in the grounds. We will be making log piles, planting insect friendly plants and tidying up our existing habitats. If you have any unwanted plants, herbs, or rocks/stones (not too heavy so the children can look under them) or logs please can you send them in to school on Monday morning.
