Class 3 - Upgrading sentences

13 Jan 2023

Second week back and we are back into our routines, although the weather hasn’t been the best and meant we have missed out on outdoor play which is never ideal.
In the classroom though we have been working hard on our imagination and grammatically correct sentences. On Tuesday we had a go at upgrading Mrs Field’s boring sentences into something a bit more exciting. We managed to upgrade the sentence ‘The house was sat on the cliff’ into some fantastically imaginative sentences, such as:
  • The monstrous mountain was sitting on the rocky cliff proudly (RS)
  • Peacefully, the spectacular cabin was placed on the extraordinary mountain next to a lake. (IS)
  • The mythical cottage was placed on the extraordinary mountain (MW)
  • Peacefully, the moon-coloured cottage was stood on the snowy ledge next to the shimmering lake (CD)
  • The moon-coloured cottage was stood peacefully on the rocky edge underneath the beautiful evening sky. (WD)
We then had a turn with a second sentence independently. Well done class 3 three this also produced some equally imaginative sentences such as:
  • The flowering stairs lead up into the beautiful sunset (SM)
  • Peacefully the beautiful alleyway flew up into the mid-morning sky. (EM)
  • Majestically, the magical stairs floated up into the pink sunset. (HP)
  • The golden stars gracefully pointed up into the glistening sky. (MN)
  • The long path led up to heaven (TT)Well done Class
Below is an overview of all the exciting things we will be learning about this half term.
