Last week in Class 3

19 Jul 2022

What a jam-packed year we have had in Class Three! I am going to say it because I can -this class has been just simply the best! Throughout our time together we have watched the children grow in confidence, independence, resilience and ability and we are so proud of each and every one of them and all that they have achieved personally and academically.

Despite the sweltering heat and surprise parties, we have still squeezed in some work this week! We finished our learning journey for RE, exploring the question "Why do some people think that life is a journey? And what significant experiences mark this?"

Through this enquiry we explored the beliefs of Hinduism, Christianity and Judaism, learning about some of the significant celebrations such as baptisms, sacred thread ceremony and bat/bar-mitzvah. This enquiry has brought up some big questions about life, death and even the meaning of our existence! To help the children explore their own thoughts, they created their own "Guide to life." When writing their guide they thought about what their own values and beliefs are and how these translate into actions in their lives that they would then recommend to others.

I am very proud of their deep thinking with this tricky task and some of their presentation was also beautiful and very creative! Have a look through to see the advice they had to offer!

Thank You and a Final Goodbye...

I would like to say a big thank you to all the children and parents who have been so very kind and generous in their leaving gifts and messages. It has been a delight and privilege to work at Fountains. It really is a very special school with amazing children and lovely staff! I will miss everyone immensely, but maybe not the marking! I look forward to hearing about everyone’s successes in the future from the other teachers.

Have the most wonderful Summer. Let’s hope this sunshine stays!
