It has been a strange start to 2025 with our snow closure days but it has been lovely to see everyone and hear about your Christmas break.
We have had a busy couple of days starting our new learning and have really enjoyed our first forest school session (although it was a bit cold!)
We are thinking of holidays to start the term in both our geography work and our English. Our first geography lesson looked at how maps, atlases and globes are used and how they can help us to learn about the world.
In writing, we are looking at persuasive writing and how this is used to encourage people to visit different places. We thought about the audience and purpose of this text type and what the features are.
In reading, our book for this half term is Mr Penguin and the lost treasure. Mr Penguin wants to be an adventurer and we are excited to find out about his first mission. We spent time thinking about the title and cover of the book and asking questions that the cover page raises like: Who is Mr Penguin? When did the treasure go missing? Why is a penguin in the jungle? Where is Mr Penguin?
