This week in Class 2…

On Tuesday, we had a special afternoon focusing on our World Religion of the year: Sikhsim.

In the Autumn term we had an afternoon that focused on the key beliefs of Sikhism, how the religion began and the 10 Gurus. This week, we learnt all about the Holy book which is very special and treated like a human by Sikhs. The children also learnt about the Gurdwara, a Sikh place of worship and Langar. A langar is the kitchen at a Gurdwara where a meal is prepared everyday. It is a meal that anybody can come and eat.

We finished the afternoon with our own langar. The children could taste different foods that are often offered such as Dhal, poppadoms and pakoras.
