In Geography, we have been looking at weather. Our enquiry question is: "What do we know about weather patterns in the UK and around the world?"
So far, we have considered the types of weather we know and how the weather changes each season. This week our focus has been on the equator and how that affects the weather in different places. We found that countries closer to the equator are hotter. We researched the climate of three places the Amazon Rainforest in Brazil, Burkina Faso in Africa and Greece. Each had slightly different weather patterns; Greece has a hot summer but a cooler winter whilst the Amazon Rainforest is wet and hot most of the year. The children enjoyed using computers to find out more and then share their ideas.
In English, we have been completing a learning journey all about adventure narratives. This week we had our final few lessons where the children wrote adventure stories of their own. To help us with this, we have spent several weeks learning all about adventure stories, including their audience, purpose, key features and vocabulary. We then planned and wrote stories of our our.
The reception have enjoyed spending time looking after their pets, getting creative and dancing to numberblocks!
Have a lovely weekend!
