At the start of the week, we had a special afternoon learning a bit more about Sikhsim as this is our World Religion of the year. In the Autumn term we had an afternoon that focused on the key beliefs of Sikhism, how the religion began and the 10 Gurus. This week, we learnt all about the Holy book which is very special and treated like a human by Sikhs. The children also learnt about the Gurdwara, a Sikh place of worship and Langar. A langar is the kitchen at a Gurdwara where a meal is prepared everyday. It is a meal that anybody can come and eat. On Tuesday, we had a little meal of our own similar to that served. The children could taste different foods that are often offered such as Dhal, poppadoms and pakoras.

In PSHE, the year ones and twos have been looking at the piece "Dreams and Goals". We start our sessions off with a little game, this week was a mirroring one where we had to copy our partners movements. This week, we set a challenge of designing a welly boot in pairs. The aim was to work collaboratively to achieve this goal. At times this was a challenge but the children did a wonderful job!

This week, our reception have turned into pirates! They have built a big boat and been sailing to lots of hot island as well as finding as stealing treasure.
