This week, class one have enjoyed DT week. The topic was structures and our task was to make a new chair for Baby Bear. Within this, we have considered the strength and stability of shapes. We found the cylinder to be strongest but a pyramid to be most stable. The children had limited materials to make their chairs: junk modeling materials, paper, tape, straws and pipe cleaners. Before making their chairs, the children deigned then.

Our Reception, children are particularly proud of their writing this week. They are becoming much more independent writers. They use their phonic knowledge to segment words and are working hard to form their letters correctly.
