Monday 1st February

31 Jan 2021

Happy Monday Class 2!
It's great to be back with you - here we go again with another week of learning!   Hopefully, you've all had a lovely weekend and Will, hope you had a great birthday!

We're moving our Learning Resources to Teams

You may notice that this page does not look quite as jam packed today. This is because we are trying out a new way to show you the work that you will be doing.

Last week, Class 3  successfully tried out using Teams to find their work.  So now we are sharing the idea with the other classes, too.  We think it will make it easier for you.  Your Teams calls and work will be in one place.  Also, many people have found it easier to open files and powerpoints on Teams rather than on the website.

It isn't really too different. We are just going to be sharing your tasks and work through Teams rather than on here. On teams we will give you a weekly overview that tells you what your learning tasks are for that week. Then you will be able to find the documents and links you need on the overview and in the folder that is labelled for each day.

So, this week, we are going to give it a try in Class 2.  As a start today, we will use the new method for our Maths and English work, then you can still look on this page for our afternoon activities.

So what do you need to do now?
Head to Teams as you normally would for our call and login. Then click on the channel for this week "
Week Beginning 1st Feb" (See below...)

You will see any messages for the children here,  just to the right, when you go onto the channel and this is where you will find the daily calls. If you need to find extra learning resources for that day they will be in files - which is found at the top of this channel. (See below.)

Inside these files you can find the overviews, as shown below. The other learning resources will be in the correct day.

As this is a bit different, we have also put a copy of the overview with all your work onto here for you to use this morning if you need to.
Here is the overview for this week. (Both files are the same thing - just in two formats to help different devices!)

-Class 2 overview 1.2.21-V318272242 .docx-  Word

-Class 2 overview 1.2.21-V318272242 .pdf-      PDF

(Both files are the same thing - just in two formats to help different devices!)

We will have time to talk about how you are getting on, when we meet for the Teams Call at 10.30 (Year 1) and 11.00 (Year 2).  We will also do a spelling test on teams today.
Email  if you are worried or cannot find anything, or if something isnt working and we will try to get it fixed!

To get on the call you login to Teams as usual but need to open up the channel for the week, Week beginning 1st February, for this week, and the link to the call will be there. It won't appear on the General channel.

Forest School Activities

As last week, you might like to go outside into your garden or go for a walk. You could just enjoy being outside and observe the things around you, or you could choose to do some activities:

Please see the Forest School page (News and Events), where Mrs Goss has posted some suggestions.

Also, here are some activities from the Woodland Trust, that you might enjoy doing over the next few weeks:

Go on a nature walk or do a scavenger hunt.
earn how to identify trees using the Woodland Trust App and become a 'Tree Tracker'.
If you decide to stay indoors:
There are there a lost of ideas for craft activities, such as making a sculpture, a cardboard tube friendly fox or even your own woodland theatre in a shoebox.
