Class 2 - Thursday 7th January
06 Jan 2021
Good Morning Class 2!
Wishing you all a very Happy New Year!
Oakley, Edward and Hattie had their birthdays in the holidays. Happy 7th birthday to you all!
I hope you had a wonderful day.
It isn’t quite the start to the year that we were expecting, but hopefully, the rules to stay at home will keep us all safe.
I am really missing you and looking forward to seeing you on our Teams video call at 10.30.
Teams Call
Please be ready for the Teams meeting at 10.30am You just need to log in and then I will start the call at 10.30. When I ring, you just need to press 'Join'. If the call has already started, press 'Join.' As there will be a lot of us altogether, it's important that you listen carefully. As it's the first one, things might go wrong! Don't worry if you can't join or you have a problem accessing the Teams site - just carry on completing the work from this page.
Each day, I will choose one piece of work that I would like you to send to me. The piece of work that I would like to see today is your writing from the English lesson. You can take a photograph of it or scan the work, then send it to me - class2@gfschools.co.uk
Try your best with all the activities and keep your work neat and tidy.
Reading
Please spend at least 20 minutes each day on reading or sharing a book with an adult.
Year 2 – Don’t forget to do an AR quiz when you have finished your reading book.
Then, here's a story for you to listen to, either now or later in the day.

Time and Seasonal Changes
Last term, we thought about the different ways that time is measured. It can be measured in small units such as seconds, minutes and hours. Time is also measured in days, week, months, the seasons and years. Last week, we began a new year – we are now in the year 2021.
One of your maths learning objectives is to know the names of the seasons and the months of the year.
Do you know the months of the year?
Can you remember the names of the four seasons and put them in the right order?
Winter Spring Summer Autumn
Which season are we in now? What do the trees look like?
PurpleMash
Please check that your login works and complete the 2Do activity about seasonal trees.
Collective Worship
Each day, there will be a Collective Worship for you to join. Please see the Enrichment page.
I hope you have enjoyed your learning today.
Please let me know if you have any worries or if there is anything I can help you with.
Mrs Lewis is looking forward to being with you tomorrow and I will be back on Monday.
Stay safe and look after each other.
