Class 2 - 5.11.20
05 Nov 2020
Each Thursday, we have a lesson in French, with Mrs Hebblewhite. We play lots of fun games and enjoy singing in French. We have been learning how to say numbers in French and this week we focussed on numbers up to twenty.
Mrs Hebblewhite has pictures and actions to remind us how to say the words:
Merci Madame Hebblewhite!
There's been a lot of excitement about Bonfire and Fireworks Night. We have learnt about safety around bonfires and fireworks.
We watched a video showing a very impressive fireworks display and listened to 'Music for the Royal Fireworks' that was composed nearly 300 years ago!
We collected lots of interesting words to describe fireworks:

We noticed that there were lots of words with the ‘oo’ sound, which is the focus in spellings for Year One, this week.
We also worked together to create sentences about fireworks, as well as writing some sentences independently.
Bonfire writing by Year One:
Year Two have been working on spelling words that have silent letters. This week we have been collecting `words with the silent ‘k’ and ‘g.
Hattie found the words ‘knobbly knees’ when she was reading a story!
Enjoy the weekend everyone!
