Another busy week in Class 2!

18 Sep 2020

This week, we have been doing lots of assessments and tests, as well as having opportunities to access play activities with our friends.   We have all tried very hard.

We have also been thinking about our new theme, which is a history topic.  The objective is to learn about ‘Changes within Living Memory’ through exploring life during World War 2.
We began by thinking about what a memory is. We read a story book about some elderly people who shared their memories about the past with a little boy called Wilfrid.
We thought about people who might remember what life was like 80 years ago and we have realised that there are not a lot of people who will have these memories.  We know that we can also find information in books, photographs, TV and the internet.
We have been given a photograph showing local children and evacuees, who were at Grantley School in 1940.  It would be interesting for us to talk to any relatives or neighbours who remember what it was like during the war.

Next week, we will be following the lessons in our weekly timetable, which can be found in the curriculum area of our class page.  We will also begin our Homework tasks; this will be spellings and a maths activity.  On Monday, we will be bringing home our red Homework Books, along with a new reading book/s.  Information for parents about homework and class routines will be in the book.  Starting on Monday 28.9.20, the spelling test will be each Monday.

Please feel free to ask or send a message if you are not sure about anything.

Have a lovely weekend everyone!
