Good Morning Everyone!
I hope you are all well and ready for today's activities.

The Learning Project this week is Food!
I hope that you will enjoy doing some of the activities from the Food Project, throughout the week.

different groups. Which food group has the most or least amount of items?
  • Can you weigh some of the food using weighing scales?
Which item of food is the lightest or heaviest? Why might this be? Are the biggest items always the heaviest?

  • Practise this week’s KIRFs target

Reading:
Try to read a variety of books at home each day.  Aim to spend at least twenty minutes reading. This can be reading a
book aloud or sharing a book with an adult. It might be a book from your bookshelf, a book from school or an online text.
Year 2 - Remember that you can do an Accelarated Reading quiz when you have finished your book: https://ukhosted79.renlearn.co.uk/6706937
  • Find a food leaflet in the house, such as a take away menu and read some of the items.                                                                                        Make a list of the food in alphabetical order and add on sound buttons to three of the words.
Phonics/Spelling:          Year 2 - make sure you challenge yourselves with Phase 6 activities, as well as checking you r knowledge of the      other phases.
Year 1 - please challenge yourselves with Phase 5 activities, as well as checking your knowledge of the other  phases.

Writing:

Music
Log into Charanga Music.  This week, we are going to be singing some songs about food.
First, listen to 'The Banana Rap'.  Think about the questions: Do you like the song?  What can you hear?  What style of music is it?  How is the song put together?
Can you follow the beat by clapping or tapping your foot?
Then, move on to learning the song.....no monkeying around!!

P.E:

Start the day with some PE, or maybe have a PE session later in the day. http://www.vimeo.com/sportinginfluence
Or, Youtube with Joe, each morning at 9.00am.

Be kind and help others
Don’t forget to try to do something to help someone else each day! There are lots of things that you could do to be helpful.  I hope you managed to do some things over the past few days!  Have a think about what you could do to help someone!

Work hard, be kind and have a fun day. I will be back with you tomorrow!
Missing you all,
Love from Mrs Micklefield

Parents,

create an A-Z list of foods.

Fruit and vegetables - Draw pictures of fruit and vegetables in your house.
Label the fruit and vegetables and place in alphabetical order.

Fruit survey : ask in your family the different fruits they like to eat.
Collect the information and add it to your tally chart. Can you represent this information in a pictogram chart?

on your menu for people who have allergies?

any meal deals?

Designing a school menu.  Can you design a new school menu?
What could you add? What would you keep the same? Will it be a healthy school menu?
Can you find pictures or draw pictures to add to your menu? Plan out your menu and remember to include prices.
