Class 2: Week 2 - Learning About Dinosaurs!

12 Sep 2019

This week, we welcomed a new friend to our class.  Jessica has already made lots of new friends and everyone has helped her to settle in. Edward and Oli have had their birthdays and we enjoyed sharing their birthday treats!  In English, we have been learning about the features of information texts.  Oliver B brought a very interesting book, with lots of facts about dinosaurs, that he borrowed from the library.  We have shared many information books to help us to find answers to some of  the questions that we gathered in our history lesson:

How did the plant eaters get leaves from the tall trees?  Where did the meat eaters get their food?  Why did the dinosaurs become extinct?
How long ago were the dinosaurs on Earth?   Were humans on Earth at the same time as the dinosaurs?
How do we know about dinosaurs? ...

We have lots of questions to keep us busy next week as we continue to explore non-fiction texts. We have also decided to write our own information books, so that we can record the facts that we find.
