Home Learning - Autumn 2
08 Nov 2021
In the event of your child self-isolating this week, here are some activities which are similar to what the children are doing in school.
PHONICS
This week we are looking at the following sounds:
z, zz qu ch
You can access the following websites to have a go at some phonic games and go on a sound hunt around your home to see what words you can find that have these sounds in.
https://www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize/topics/zcqqtfrBBC phonics have short clips to introduce the sounds and activities to practise.
Phonics Play is a website for games
Reading Eggs is a programme to help children learn to read through songs and interactive games which support phonic and reading development.
They currently have a free 30 trial where you can sign up with just an email address. When you access it for the first time it will assess your child's phonic awareness and tailor a programme of activities to help your child progress with their early reading.
Phonics Play Comics is another website that has a range of phonically decodable comic texts where you can select the phonemes to practise.
MATHS
In maths this week we are thinking about sorting. Have a go with this activity -
